Join a roundtable bringing together creators, publishers, organisers, libraries, and distributors to explore the evolving landscape of comic book readership. This session delves into how comics travel, who reads them, and the factors that shape audience engagement, covering both creative and commercial perspectives on distribution, and what defines a “good” comic.
Curated and organised by Vidyun Sabhaney and Orijit Sen, this event marks ten years of First Hand: Graphic Non-Fiction from India and is organised in collaboration with the Foundation for Indian Contemporary Art.

Pierre Thomé (born 1960, Luxembourg) is an illustrator, editor, and educator. He was Head of Illustration at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts – Design & Art from 2002 to 2025. In 2003, he initiated the course “Visual Essay – Drawn Reportage”, establishing drawing as a method of journalistic and documentary practice within higher art education. He co-edited Zeichner teaching explore drawing as a language—how it shapes understanding and how it can be taught.
Christoph Schuler (Born June 14, 1954, in Zurich, Switzerland) is an actor, musician, designer and comic book artist who has contributed to various underground magazines such as Stilett, and is the co-founder of comic magazine Strapazin and the event magazine Nizza, deputy editor-in-chief at the game magazine AHA! and at the satirical magazine Nebelspalter. He is currently a songwriter for various bands and musicians, translator, screenwriter for short videos and comics, game inventor, lecturer at the Swiss Text Academy and the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, slam poet, columnist, editor, and translator for various publishers, freelance journalist.
